Does anyone know what happened to the S/R that Wings West Used?

My 2000 yellow S/R is in North Texas. Originally sold in Fort Worth, Texas. I am the 2nd owner. 90,000 miles. I bought it in April 2004 with about 77,000 miles. It is stock except K&N filter, MSD coil, Ford Racing wires and 1/4 inch spacers in the front wheels. As of yesterday, it is not drivable because of transmission problems. I will fix it.

spacers are usually used to fix an offset for rims that are not the right offset. You are better off getting rims that are correct, but in a pinch they will do.

The spacers are an SCCA legal way to increase the front track by 1/2 inch. Helps the car turn a little better. (I hope.)

Stock must stay with OEM wheel size, 15x5.5 as you all know, and must be within 1/4 in of OEM offset. The spacers can also make clearance for wider tires. Some times autocrosses push the wheel width minimums for tires. I know one guy that runs 225-50’s on 5 inch wide wheels. He uses spacers also.

I saw a black S/R over here in Mcdonough, Georgia. It was for sale. By the time I got my mom to look at it, it was sold. :cry: I died deep down inside.

the red s/r I reported seeing here in carrollton is now in the junkyard. I saw it the other day on the local salvage yards rollback. The roof of the car was smashed down and it looked like the doors had to be cut off.Iwill try to get the vin# Damn i hope noone was hurt.

I have a Red S/R that used to be in Ashland KY,
now it is in my garage in Ga…

does that count?
Oh it only has 47k on it and is getting 39.7 mpg

I am in the process of retsoring it to it’s origanal status(not that it has been canabolized,just replacing some bushings)

I have 2 1999’s, and have sold 2 1999’s in the last couple years… and all 4 of them are still running - one was salvaged but saved. The salvaged one is in good hands now by a guy named darrell, who may or may not visit this site. darrell had a 1999 and a 2000 s/r already as well, making him a certified S/R freak.
