Wiring up a second cigarette socket

I found this neat line in/power adapter for my iPhone,

And rather than mess with other adapters and head units (especially since this one is like 70 bucks) I’d rather install a second cigarette plug and just hide everything behind the dash. Has anyone done this or have good tips about wiring for our cars in general?

disconnect the battery… thats about all i got for you. :smiley: lol!

a place you might start at is by taking the console apart to see how the current one is wired, then go from there. Maybe you can tap into the same power source / wires, but that maybe too much for the wire to handle if you plug in more then one device.

I would either run my own line from the fusebox to the new cigarette lighter or just see if you could tap it like mentioned.
