The life of "loon"

Since we are starting over just about everywhere…I figured I’d fill some of you in on who I am. For those who already know me…shut up and look at my pics!! [d00d]

My name is Kevin. I work for an airline as an aircraft mechanic in Knoxville, TN. This is my story! [cheers] Enjoy!

I bought this car almost three years ago as my 94’ LX was on it’s last leg with 232K on the clock. I bought my ZX2 on the hopes of it lasting as long and so far no major problems. My “mod” list is small and vauge (just the way I like it). Nothing fancy, no tricks or foul play. I am equipped with all the genreal “bolt-on” goodies along with SCT and a few hours of Dyno time. This has netted me fairly great gas milage along with a little extra pep in the throttle. Last dyno (Sept 07) I pulled 124hp/132tq. [dunno] That’s about all she had. Still yet my average “in-town” gas milage stays at a steady 34MPG. Hwy is generally 37Mpg but have reached 39Mpg. She sits on Progress springs and Tociko “blue” struts with a 19mm sway bar out back. For my style of driving, she huggs the mountain roads while giving my butt a rest on the highway without being so bouncy.
There is a major project in the works with a few details and dollars to work out. It’s gona be massive and very expensive and “No!” it doesn’t include a turbo. [screwy]

Enjoy the progress of “loon” over the past few years…

Hope you enjoyed the show. See ya around.

In the future all that will change.

Yay, white z’s ftw!!! Why did you take off your cf hood?

It was actually borrowed. Hondastomper has been rebuilding his motor and the hood was just sitting in his garage. So I borrowed it for about 9 months or so. Drove out to KY one day, left my hood at his house. I eventually got tired of having to pull the hood pins everytime I wanted into the engine bay so I took it back and got my hood. I kinda like the hood but would prefer it to be a stock style painted white. CF and white really don’t mix tooooo well. Trust me on that. …

oh okay. That does make sense i guess. I kinda think white and CF looks good. I just prefer not to use it on my car or buy anything cf. If i did buy an oem cf hood i would paint it like the fanta z(ultramac). He painted the sides of the hood.

Lookin’ good!

I’d love to find a good deal on some springs and a ww kit just to throw on my white(winter) Z. The white looks BA.

I’d love to find a beater Z. Just can’t seem to squeeze one out of my butt just yet. That’s when the current white one will become a major project.

Nice car Kevin!

Thank you sir…

I’m with you on the odd look of a white car with a CF hood. I painted mine as well. The hood pins are a pain every once in awhile, but its so nice to fell how light the hood is.

I didn’t know you’ve only had your car 3 years, that’s not much longer than me(~2.5) :sunglasses: I remember you posting up most of those pics, all except the first few. So what color is your hood now?

Well, it was silver until I pulled it off last week and swapped it out with my stock white one…

Here’s a few more pics…for giggles.

Long story short, I went and picked up a stock CF hood for Mellowness65. Upon arrival in his state, weather was bad for the return trip, so we got his silver hood off of his "parts car and put it on my Z. The hood stayed on for about a month.

Silver hood…not a good shot

Nice to see you on here Kevin. I love the lip kit that is on there. So tell us your secret that you want to do to it .How much longer?

the hood didn’t really look bad after all the poo and general grime got washed off
