Yeah I was at a Ford only car show and took best in class Front wheel drive 98 and up. they still called my car a Focus ZX2 I yelled ESCORT ZX2 evryone just laughed.
That sucks because I like to think the Escort ZX2 is superior in looks, handling, and performance to the focus. We should have our own classification. Not to be confused with a focus.
I agree… however what is, is… unfortunately for us.
Quit getting butt hurt over a name. Instead of whining on an internet forum, show the world what the ZX2 is all about!

HA! Hell yea, regardless of the term Focus or Escort, its a ZX2 and THAT is unique and will become infamous.
First of all I don’t know how you could walk into a Ford dealership and have someone that works there call a Zx2 a focus. They shouldn’t be working there if they do that…I can see a average person that knows absolutly nothing about cars doing that though just because the Focus is usually what has the ZX name behind it, still not an excuse. Ford is however not really using ZX quite as much at least not on the sedans. They have dropped calling them ZX4s and its just standard SE, at least that is what I have noticed when stocking in cars. I can’t quite remember with the hatchbacks though. I don’t really work that department that much anymore since I have switched to days.

I agree Miranda, they shouldnt be working there… but I question the salesman training in these instances not the dealership. Many saleman I ahve spoken to have called the ZX2 a focus. The ZX2 as popular as it is in our community seems to have not captured the minds of dealers in its short history. That is why they call it a Focus ZX2.
In my experience, Ford also tends to sell towards their higher end cars rather then their economy cars. A salesman will push a Fusion or Mustang before they push a Focus. RE: The price tag.
the eariler ones were 3 bangers yeah, later they went to a 1.0L 4 hahahah
