Ouch…40 bones? I bought a boot from AutoZone then cut the bottom of the stock boot off, and attached my new one to that for mounting. Works great and looks pretty darn good too IMO.

also on teamzx2 there is a group buy thats getting started i think. its 35 for a shift boot and the ebrake one.

there are several people selling boots on ebay i am going to pick one up in a week or to i will let you know how it went

my boot was from ebay… leather… no problems except me being a dumbass when i installed and and didnt use the stock bracket. then realized my mistake and fixed it
