Bigger Brakes for the ZX2

havent hit one yet but yah never know there is always a first time…

Ok… THAT is a story you must tell.

you know when you get animated talking to your friends and wave your arms around???!?!?!?! LOL!!!

I havent hit the windshield yet either, but I was in a pretty nasty wreck with my first ZX2. I never hit the airbag even though it went off. Sister unfortuanely took a straight on face hit to the air bag, poor girl…

Wilwood kit would be sweet. Wish I didn’t have to pay for my house…lol

Just for an idea…

Heres a pic of a Z with Wilwood kits… 13" fronts, 12" (egt) rears

Keep in mind this ZX2 has 18" rims… 17s look like it will be a tight fit… LOL

Quote from kjcdesignz on TeamZX2:

“The brakes are kind of a combo platter that my friends company pieced together for me. Fronts are a willwood 12.1 BB kit and the rears are obviously a conversion on top of a EGT BB upgrade all with SS lines too. He found a resource for the black xdrilled and sloted rear rotors ~ super hawt!! If anyone is interested in setting up their Z with this complete kit I can get you intouch with him…”

Yea i made the post afyter it that Precision breaks made a kit that was identical to that. THere price tag was $1200 for the kit. and if memory serves right they fit 17" rims. IDK if the company still exist but it did about 5 yrs ago.

OMG those brakes.

What pads and rotors are everyone running?

Precison brakes still exists but apearenly they changed there name to http://www.revolutionbrake.com. They consolidated thier offering for the escort and xz2, 2 front kits, 1 rear kit.

Precision and Wilwood are the same company. Wilwood side makes them and the Precision side is there distributor. And yes they still make the set up it’s like 1550 for the front know. But you are all looking at the wrong place for improvement. The stock master cylinder sucks. We need a bigger cylinder, or at least a better one. Besides bigger rotors aren’t going to stop you any faster. they will more than likely just slow down acceleration and increase stopping speed. As far as Rotors and calipers what we need is a 2 piston free floating caliper in the front and a caliper in the rear that actually uses the majority of the rotor. combine those things with slotted rotors and SS break lines and you will stop on a dime and give 9 cents change.

There is no way that set up would fit my 16 inch light weight rota rims…

No, according to Pesision you need a setof 17s or bigger.
