Other Planned mods

My bad I misread I thought you said you were going turbo. Now that j look back it say you do not want to go turbo. This is one reason I was questioning ur high revs. But now that I looked backill retract my previous statment.

If you are really going 100% custom it’s going to cost alot of $! You might want to think about other things too such as what if something breaks and you need a replacment part. I thought the 2.3 kit was expensive, your is going to be proably double that!

Thanks guys great posts so much to take away there. And trust Me I will take as much As I can away from your posts. Yes I consed to your point that every engine is different and it depends on the application. But like I said i think this application suits my driving style. And yes the amount of money I plan to spend on it yet is about 40-50k. I have already dropped about 25k into the escort. thanks to a botched port and polish job from Gude I had to put in an extra 2k just to fix the top end. Im sure Gude is pretty good at times, but the product I got was not what I was sold on. Hell they didnt even do anything to the top end other than Spray it with a graphite type spray to make it look polished. Oh well lesson learned there. I cant help but take things to heart most of the time cuz I have been through a lot with this little girl and well I have had it since it was New in 02. Done all the work I could possibly do myself. Did not do the Port and polish cuz I was afraid I would screw it up and I didnt really know enough to do it…And I didnt have the time to learn about it. I was still in the Marines at the time. Plus Young people tend to take things to heart a lot more than you seasoned guys. And I just tend to get defensive about her…she is like my second wife. LOL.

Oh and Koi you can bet Im printing that last post out

 totally know what you mean

im sure 99% of the people ehre can relate to that  …Oh and just so you guys knwo I really am not a “Newbie” I was around about a year after I got my Z thanks to meeting Lamar. He turned me onto this site and I believe this site went through some construction and revamping and everyone had to recreate their profiles…I think. And At that point I was like…meh I am not doing much right now anyway considering I was on the other side of the world away from my Z. Just letting you guys know been around for some time.

Yeah i saw the date listed on the profile - nice to see an old timer back on the site!

Personally, I tend to agree with foundation work no matter what “tune” it sees. Beefy bottom ends can never be discounted when you get into the top of the ladder and want to really push it on hot tires.

Yeah that is why I am not going to allow for a repeat of my Gude “incident” and really do my homework and search for a good machinist that I can bounce Ideas off of and has some experience building race engines. Hell I will Send it overseas if I have to.
