Got the call today that my transmission is finally done to the tune of $1000. :o Along with the spider gears being toast I guess it needed the 2nd and 3rd gear assemblies. I could swear that a few years ago there was a heavy duty unit available for these cars. Is this true and are they still around or available if so. That’s a lot of cash to fork over right now and I would like to see if I have any other options.
Some people used the differential out of the ford escape, however I have a helical limited slip inbound from hong kong, which is much better. If you had one of those and a shop install it it’d be about the same price
