I got rear-ended by a Tempo the first week I had the car… The bumper wasn’t really falling off, just broken in that corner. So I put the ziptie on to hold it up, then the whole bumper came off on the interstate this past winter.
why didnt you turn it in on insurance?? You got rear-ended thats the other guys fault.
I wasn’t driving at the time, a friend was. The girl who ran into her, gave her all the information. All the information was fake. She’d had a fake insurance card, and the number and address she gave us were wrong. And since I used to speed around in my other cars, I have a $1000 deductible. Since it’s only $750 worth of damage, less if I do a body kit, I’m paying out of pocket. It’s not all that bad, really… My insurance company wouldn’t have let me use an aftermarket bumper anyway, and I’d wanted to body kit the car. So now I have a body kit back piece that was only $200 and it’ll only cost $100 to get it put on. The stock bumper alone was like $450 from Ford.
I dunno the laws in Nebraska, but do you have “at-fault” and “no-fault” insurance? If so then she would still be liable for the damages done to your car. Meaning, she pays your deductible.
If the information she gave was wrong, I believe thats a felony, meaning jailtime for her.
I understand what you saying about swallowing hte cost for the repairs though. check out my the video I made with my bike and hitting a deer.

she’d pay, if we could find her… that’s the problem. There was never an accident report, and all the information that the girl gave us was wrong. So since they couldn’t find her, it fell to me to pay it.

Its too bad you didn’t report the accident at the time. It would have been funny to see her get busted right on the spot. She might of even tried to flee the scene. It would of been nice even if you or your friend were able to get the liscense plate number. Then once you found out the info was fake you could have called it in.
But if obviously happened awhile ago and whats done is done. What can you do now right?
